Johannesburg is located in Charlton Township in Otsego County.  Township hall: 10900 M-32, Johannesburg, MI 49751, (989) 731-1920.  Population:  913. A station on the Michigan Central Railroad.  The settlement formed around the sawmill of the Johannesburg Manufacturing Company.
